This hasworked for me with Acer and Toshiba. Find your Cmos battery (RTC Battery) disconnect it, now get another cmos battery plug like the one connected to the battery on the system and cut the battery free and twist the wire ends together. You are going to use this to short the points on the battery socket. You can get a plug off of a dead laptop motherboard. Go to a computer shop and ask them for one, I'm sure they have them laying around. Now power up the laptop and let the bios load. At this point shut the laptop back down and replace the short plug with the battery and put it back together. Fire up the laptop and all should be well. On some systems you have to take the laptop apart in order to get to the rtc battery..same procedure except you won't be able to see the system go to the BIOS, not a big deal, just count to 30 with power on and then shut down, put laptop back together and power back up once it is back in one piece. good luck
