Dd Wrt Firmware Download For Mac 4,6/5 8044 reviews

Firmware Download; 3. Installation; 4. Configuration; 5. Test; Download DD-WRT Hotspot Wi-Fi firmware. Select the model of your Wireless Router or your Access Point and download the 'Mini (or factory)' and 'Full' firmwares. After the 2 minutes do a Hard reset or 30/30/30 on the router, then configure at 192.168.1.1 (DD-WRT's default IP address). The default DD-WRT username/password is root/admin. OS X ships with a command-line TFTP client. First, download the firmware file and put it in your user folder (/Users/yourusername/).

MAC filtering does not work when using dd-wrt firmware in the Repeater mode

Do you know if IP filtering will work in repeater mode?

I am not familiar with IP filtering (or if it even exists in dd-wrt). If you know how to do this please post so I can try it for my situation. I need to filter some of the transmitting channels in order to get acces to the internet and MAC filtering is the only way I know how to solve this problem.

Every device attaching is given an IP address by DHCP unless the device already has had it preset onboard its PC.
The IP can be used in the Access Restriction to control access to the Internet.
Static IP addressing also does not work on devices attaching by repeater.
As you say the MAC Filter does not work on ALL devices attached to the Repeating router either by wireless or Lan.
This has been causing me some problems over the past few days. So far the intruder(s) have been using the wrong IP range.

Static IP addressing is working fine for me. I use it in both Repeater and Repeater Bridged modes and have not had any problems whatsoever..on any build.

Thanks for the response.
I'm having problems applying a static address to a client accessing the Lan of a repeater connected to my network. The Repeater also uses Wireless MAC filtering
The MAC address is NOT included in the Wireless MAC filter list of the Primary AP and still comes into the network
(For whatever reason it does not receive the static address I try to assign to it.)
I have since found that it does assign the address if it is within the correct range, otherwise the assignment is ignored.
I also saw this afternoon following address attach to my Main router 00:00:E2:9F:2A:65.
It is not on the allowed wireless MAC list. It had an IP address of 192.168.1.34 and made connections 2 or 3 times.
My Subnet is different so DHCP did not supply it.
Its one of two WRT54GSv1.1 which have problems trying to get Access Restrictions to work as they did when using the same firmware that I used last year on several WRT54GL (01/15/07 v24 Standard).
I tried using 06/20/2007v24 Standard and reverted back after problems seemed to start.
I could only surmise its a repeater somehow or other getting in due to the previous postings.
As soon as the weather clears a bit I'm going to try v23 SP2 special on a GL with Static assignments set for the collection of devices in use on the campsite.

The router is in AP mode and the MAC Filter doesn't work.
Please, don't go OT!!

What I think we are amplifying is that there are other instances in earlier builds in which MAC filtering does not seem to work.
This may be part of a related problem.

To add to this at the time I had been trying to set an address out of the range 192.168.5.1-100 e.g. 192.168.6.1 but this did not work.
When I set the value to 192.168.5.22 (say) it did but the Filter on my AP would not reject the MAC address connected to the LAN on the repeater and STOP it from connecting.
Since I've been having problems getting Access Restrictions combined with Static addressing to work as I thought it should in v24 on a WRT54GSv1.1 I have been forced to try v23Sp2 Special and I am finding the radio g performance very poor compared to v24 prior to 20/06/2007.
A release of v24 from Sept 2007 I tried to use also had poor wireless performance.
I intend to try switching the operation to Wireless b mode using v23Sp2 Special on a WRT54GL and see how it performs. My ADSL line is only about 1.8Mbits Down and 250Kbits up. so it should not be a problem.
I expect Access Restrictions to work since Static IP addressing seems stable and does not seem to corrupt the router in the same way it did using v24 on a WRT54GSv1.1

Did you try both PREVENT and PERMIT?
Did you try to fill all the 128 MAC addresses?

On WRT150Nv1 and BS build 9379:
PREVENT doesn't work;
PERMIT works (tested using only 2 MAC addresses).

Now I know the reason because all people don't have any problem with MAC FILTER.
I performed a test using the PERMIT feature.
If I add from 1 to 32 MAC addresses the filter works well.
With more than 32 numbers the router doesn't permit to connect to everybody!!!
I hope BS, EKO or somebody else reads this post and correct this bug.
(test performed using WRT54GSv6 with RC7-9346micro by EKO)

As some of you might have recognized via the press the FCC intends router makers to lock down their devices to prevent users from changing RF settings to operate a device outside the allowed spectrum. Practically this leads to a complete firmware lock down preventing users to install third party firmwares. We all know what that means for security, innovation and freedom so the FSF launched a online form to easily voice user’s opinions to the FCC at www.dearfcc.org. Feel free to tell the FCC your point of view!

To obtain the matching version for your router please use the Router Database:
